ASK Belt Grading – Sep 18, 2016

There will be a belt grading on Sunday, September 18 at the South Dojo.   Please bring your grading books and $25 cash or cheque made out to A. S. Karate Council Alberta.  Registration for the grading will take place between 12:30-1pm before the class.

  • Kyu (colour belt) gradings will follow the ASK Grading Syllabus.
  • Dan (black belt) gradings will use a combination of the syllabi of the ASK and South African Shotokan Karate Shihahkai.
  • Both syllabi can be found under the Resources tab of this website.

2015 All Alberta Karate Invitational & Sensei Plumacher Seminar

Please see the tournament information below for a great opportunity to compete in Kata and Kumite and learn from WKF World Champion Luis Plumacher.  Please let Sensei Chris know if you would like to attend.  If there is enough interest, the ASK Board is considering subsidizing this event for its members.

When:  Nov 7 (Tournament), Nov 8 (Seminar with Sensei Plumacher)

Where:  William Aberhart High School, 3009 Morley Trail NW, Calgary, AB

Who:  There are kata and kumite divisions for all ages and belt levels!

2015 ALL ALBERTA KARATE INVITATIONAL

KAA Tournament – Oct 24, 2015

Please let Sensei Chris know if you would like to attend the upcoming KAA tournament.  Travel and accommodation costs for competitors can be reimbursed with prior approval by the ASK Board.

2015 Annual General Meeting – June 7

2015 Annual General Meeting

We will have our Annual General Meeting at 2:45pm after the ASK kata class on Sunday, June 7, 2015 at the South Dojo (Fitness Plus, Braeside).  This meeting is open to all ASK members and we will need a quorum of at least 7 voting members (adult members or parents of members).

 

 

On the agenda so far:

  • Presentation and approval of our financial statements (Darryl; Secretary/Treasurer) – This is essential to maintain our good standing as a non-profit society
  • Changes to our Board of Directors and elections of new members
  • Roundtable discussion of ideas for use of our casino funds.

More details to follow.  We hope to see you there!
