3.  Member Tournaments

Each year the ASK plans and hosts a number of tournaments to support the development of its member karate-kas.  Each tournament offers individual and team kata and kumite events from the very beginner to the senior belts.

4.  Annual Karate Camp

The annual ASK karate camp offers ASK members two and half days of fun, focus, and challenge.  The camp also features a belt grading including the annual Shodan (1st dan) grading.

5.  Gradings

Gradings (testing to advance to next belt rank) are conducted approximately once per quarter. Curriculum is based on the Association of Shotokan Karate belt ranking system. A successful grading will lead either to a different belt color (Kyu) or the same belt color with one or more stripes added (Mon).
